10-Day Motorbike Touring North Vietnam

At 8:00 am, our tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel then take you all to our shop in the edge of Hanoi and start the ride from the shop. As an expert for the motorcycle routes in North Vietnam, just a short ride from the shop, our team will take you on the back countryside roads/offroad through many rural rustic villages with scenic view of mountains and rice paddies. For other tour organizers this first day could be the hard and boring day ride, however, for us, it will be an enjoyable day with fun and scenic route. we’ll be in Mai Chau – a peaceful village of the Thai people at around 5:00 pm then depending on your mood, we may have short walk around their lovely village.

9:00 am, getting on the bike after breakfast and saying good bye to the host in Mai Chau valley, we’ll be heading up North Vietnam on some easy offroad to Moc Chau – one of the most beautiful plateaus in Vietnam that is very famous for green tea farm.
Lunch will be served in Moc Chau, after lunch we will ride on the mountain back road to the Da river lake, this ride is one of the highlights of the day because it will cross some breathtaking mountain passes and many villages of the colorful tribes. After crossing the river on a ferry, we’ll have another great offroad motorbike ride to Phu Yen, it must be the best part of the day because the scenery is quite different from the Day 1. We finish the day at the hotel in Phu Yen town at about 4:30.

Today is surely the highlight of this motorcycle tour. The ride will be on some of the most scenic roads which offer a lot of stops for picturing. The route is great mixture on and offroad… We’ll cross Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai, the two remote lands of Yen Bai province where the black H’mong, Dzao and Thai people can make wonderful rice terrace on the mountains. Most of the area we ride through is not famous for tourists but for us it’s even more attractive than other well-known places in Vietnam. We’ll finish this joyful ride today at a hotel in Mu Cang Chai at around 5 pm.

The motorbike ride to Sapa today is also an enjoyable on and offroad ride. The scenery is quite different from what you’ve seen on the days before. Beside of viewing the terrace fields, today we’ll have a great view of green tea farm, through some villages of the Tay and H’mong people, especially we will have a chance to ride on one the O Qui Ho pass – one of the most beautiful passes in Northern Vietnam where we can see the great valley of the Muong Hoa from the attitude of around 200 m above the sea level. It’s a shorter ride but it could be one of the most enjoyable days. After seeing around busy town of Sapa, we will ride to a beautiful village nearby Sapa and stay at a homestay.

After breakfast in Sapa, we’ll hit the scenic back-roads all the way down from Sapa on another side of the Hoang Lien mountain range. It also offers a great view of mountain with more terrace rice fields. The motorbike ride to day is almost on the smooth roads and easy offroad along the Chinese border through some rustic villages and nice terrace fields. We’ll end the day in the little town of Bac Ha at around 4: 00 pm. Check in hotel in town early or we can ride around to some beautiful villages of the Flower H’mong nearby the town.

This Vietnam motorcycle ride to Ha Giang today gives you a completely different feeling and experience of riding. It has more difficult off-road track options and also offers a different view of mountain from the ones you’ve seen before. In addition, the ride via Hoang Su Phi could give you one of the best views of mountain with full of rice terrace if you come at the right time (from March to October), it will surely make you feel worthy to be here with the motorbikes. This could be the highlight of this 10-day tour in North Vietnam. We’ll arrive Ha Giang at around 5:00 pm. Hotel stay.

This ride to Meo Vac is through the most remote land in Vietnam where the local people don’t even have enough food but they’re always ready to give you a smile with waving hands whenever you’re coming through, where every meter of the road you can find something nice/special to picture. 180 km motorbike ride on almost the famous Ha Giang loop covering the Rock plateau of Dong Van, Nho Que river and the amazing Ma Pi Leng pass, this day’s ride promises to be one of the best motorbike rides in Vietnam. We’ll finish the highlighted day in the late afternoon in Meo Vac town.

After breakfast in a local restaurant, we continue the tour to the Ba Be lake. The ride today is almost down the hill, the first half of the ride is quiet smooth road along the Nho Que river until Bao Lac where we stop for lunch. After lunch we will have great offroad motorbike ride through some rustic villages, corn fields and national park of Ba Be, the ride is mostly on the rugged roads crossing some streams by bamboo bridges through plenty villages of the Thai, Dzao, Tay people…we will get to beautiful village of the Pac Ngoi after the boat trip and end the tour at around 5:00 pm. Stay at a homestay in the village of the Tay people.

Today’s ride offers different beautify from other days before, the ride is not up and down too much but offer the breathtaking view of jungle and rustic villages of the ethnic people. We can also have some interesting visits to historical sites at the ‘Safe Zone” ATK during the war time, especially We will have a scenic ride through the national park on some smooth path or dirt track. We will arrive the Thac Ba Lake at around 3:30 pm, leave the bikes in the villages and take a 1.5-hour boat ride through this beautiful lake where you can have a swim.

We will ride mostly on the back roads through quite villages along rivers, we can also do some easy offroad through some green tea fields. The last 10 kilometers back to our office is a little bit challenges through the heavy traffic in Hanoi. We will arrive at around 3:30 pm before the rush hour.
