Wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions

The weather in Central Vietnam can vary depending on the season and the region. Generally, it is hot and humid from May to September, and cooler and drier from October to April. However, there may be occasional rain showers or storms throughout the year, especially in mountainous areas.

Therefore, you should wear comfortable, breathable clothes, and be easy to dry. You should also wear layers that you can add or remove depending on the temperature. Avoid wearing shorts or skirts, as they may not be appropriate for some cultural sites or rural villages. Instead, wear long pants or jeans that can protect your legs from scratches or insect bites.

Get up early to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere

Hoi An in the morning is peaceful, sunny, and fresh air, not crowded with tourists like in the evening but only locals prepare for new day activities. Therefore, if you want to enjoy this rare beauty, check in without being stuck, don’t be afraid to get up early.

Try to participate in Hoi An’s traditional activities

This location offers unique traditional activities, such as Bai Choi singing, lantern releases, and folk games. We highly recommend taking the time to partake in these activities to make your trip more enjoyable and memorable.

Confidently pushing the horn

Honking has been a unique part of Vietnam’s traffic culture. The “beep, beep…” sound can be heard throughout the country and it adds to the lively atmosphere. Don’t be intimidated by honking; it’s simply a way to get someone’s attention.

In Vietnam, honking does not necessarily imply impoliteness or anger. Rather, it is a brief notification: “Hey, I’m coming through on my bike. Please be aware!”

Be careful when turning left/right or passing through intersections

To alert others to your intention to turn, it’s important to activate your turn indicators. Additionally, consider waving your hand to make your signal more noticeable. This helps drivers behind you anticipate your turn.

Be sure to signal in advance and avoid making sudden turns without giving ample warning. Once you have completed your turn, remember to turn off your signal. Failure to do so can confuse and potentially result in an accident.

Note that not all drivers may notice your turn signals, so it’s wise to observe through your rearview mirror before completing a turn.
